Spring Break

March 8-14

We took spring break early this year because of things in Theresa's life called for it. Like getting a new puppy and something to do with Matt's schedule. They came in on Monday night the 8th and left Monday morning the 15th.

Tuesday, was an easy day because it always takes Theresa a day to acclimate to the altitude, so we scheduled a hair cut and day to lay around.

We only had one day of specific plans and that was Wednesday.

We scheduled a tour of the US Mint.
It was interesting,
it was quick.
No cameras,
No phones with cameras (we had to take out the batteries until we left the building.)
No purses or wallets.
It is very high security
and we found out the reason why is because
it is the third largest storage of gold in the United States.

This is the only picture we got of the Mint as we were driving out of downtown.

We then went to 16th Street mall for lunch.

Of course the funnest part was riding the free bus.

The second funnest thing was taking group pictures, especially for the kids. ;o)

We then made an impromptu stop at the capital.

It is a beautiful building.
I've never been in a capital building, at least that I remember.

Pictures are from the main floor.

There are two domes to the capital. The inner dome (pic on far right)
and the gold dome we see from the outside (which only takes 3 pounds of gold to cover it.)

From the inside dome.
Looking down, looking up and the stairwell to the outer, gold dome.

(The media is for the trial of Willie Clark for killing the
Denver Broncos cornerback Derrent Williams.)

The House Gallery

Thursday we must of just hung around the house and then went and watched the boys and Kaylie do gymnastics.
Friday we decided to do a picnic...

and then go and see "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel".

Saturday was their day with the other side of their family, and it was when I sat a couple of hours at the medical clinic to find out that Tanner had strep throat.

Sunday, I stayed home with the three youngest and Theresa took the three oldest to church. Once Jeff was home Theresa and I had some sister time doing some shopping.

And that was our week.

3 Weeks!

I can't believe it has be 3 weeks since I did anything on here.
It's not that there hasn't been anything going on...
there's just been too much to sit down and take time to think and blog.
We've been to see three different doctors,
Tanner came away with a strep throat diagnosis,
Kaylie just had a virus,
and my appt. was the dreaded one that no woman enjoys and likes to discuss.

We've passed around at least 3 different types of viruses.
1 stomach bug, 1 with a wet cough, and another with a sore throat.

We also had our spring break in there where my sister and nieces came for the week.

We've also gotten two snow falls where we've gotten dumped on.

That's a very short synopsis of our life in the past 3 weeks.

I am going to go back and share in more detail on a couple of the above mentioned events.

Introducing...

Tia Ramia

My dad was quoted as saying,
"We have three daughter, six grandchildren, three granddogs with one granddog on the way."

I shared here about our sad loss.

Well my sister and family already have a dog on the way. There is a lady who Matt works with whose dog just had puppies. She wanted to give them a dog, which is a border collie, once she heard about the loss of Jessie.
They decided, "Yes, we want a dog." Then came trying to name the new little girl. I don't remember all the names but Brooke, the oldest at 15 wanted to name HER George. Megan, who is 13 and all girl, wanted name her Sasha or Jara (a combination of Tara, their 1st dog, and Jessie.)

They ended up with the name Tia, which is suppose to be a combination of Tara and Jessie also. The "T" and "a" which is a short u sound, is from
Tara. The "i" which is a long e sound, is after Jessie. The middle name is after Kaylie's name for Jessie. She would always mispronounce Jessie Maria, the name my nieces called Jessie, and called her Jessie Ramia. (pronounced Ru-me-u).

They don't get her quite yet because she is only 2 weeks old, but in a couple of more weeks they will get her, and it will be back to having a "baby" in the house. Which means getting up in the middle of the night to let her go out, having to keep a constant eye that she doesn't chew things up or get into things she's not suppose to.

I'm not envious!
