Women's Breakaway

April 22-24

New Hope's women's retreat was held in Colorado Springs this year at...

After a rough trip down to the Springs, through hail, torrential rain, and a tornado warning,
it ended up being a great get-away for me. I was able to relax, read and nap.
(When I wasn't worrying about Tanner.)

Where we met.

Where we slept.

I was a "group facilitator" for our discussions.
I think we had a good discussions throughout the weekend.

There was a big group, or is it herd, of deer that were always around the "campus".

As I sat on my bed, I could look out the window and watch them.

"As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee."
That is what went through my mind all weekend.

We were warned about a bear in the area, and I hoped to see it,
I got up early to look out at the trash can he was known to get in,
and this is what I woke up to and saw.

even if it was the end of April!

This is the closest I came to seeing the bear.

Because of the weather, the campfire was rearranged,

and we had a "campfire" of candles.

We offered our prayers of incense up to God,

and then we had the "Lord's Supper",

which was a juice box and bread.

Of course, we still had to do smores.

We closed the night off with some watching movies,
some doing makeovers, and some playing games.

The finale...

the group picture!

Someone grabbed a nun/sister, to come out to take the picture,
and the poor thing had at least a dozen cameras to use,
but she was a hoot and kept us all laughing through the process.

It was a great weekend, and even though I has lots of relaxation,

I came home pooped!
