Fun in Oklahoma

September was a very busy, yet fun month for us.
The kids and I took a road trip to Oklahoma to visit my sister Theresa and her family...
which means COUSINS for the kids.
Praise God! Theresa has a vehicle that sits 8!

Then we headed back through Kansas and spent a week there.

On this post I'm just going to highlight our time in Oklahoma.

We drove in on September 11th, and I had to call Theresa on the way to remember that day 9 years earlier,
I had to reminice where we were and our phone conversation and thoughts on that day.
(I was visiting my parents with Preston (2) and Tanner (8 mos), which was within 30 miles of where Theresa lived.)

I was also driving in with what I thought was a cold, but ended up being something that I ran a fever with,
but I still had to hit all FOUR Mardel's in the OK City area.
Priorities people! It was the last day of 25% off all their bargain books!

We met Tia for the first time, and she is such a sweet dog.
She was compared to Kaylie more then once, that mischievous little thing!

We went fossil hunting and Kaylie found a scorpion
and we found a spider along with the fossils. (Sept 13)
(In the picture with Kaylie sitting, the rocks right behind her is where she spotted the scorpion,
this picture was before finding it.)

We visited sites on Route 66...(Sept 14)
the Round barn....

...Pops, where every imaginable kind pop is available...

We wanted to visit the Oklahoma Memorial again.

We then checked out the National Weather Center,
where every weather watch in the country comes out of. (Sept 15)

VeggieTales, Wizard of Ha's was shown in some beginning clips of different weather scenes.
We also were checking out the "weather watcher" vehicles.

These are original props for the movie "Twister",
of course none of the kids have seen that movie so they didn't appreciate it
like Theresa and I did.

We then visited the Oklahoma State Fair, in hopes of getting free stuff. (Sept 16)
(Which ended up being the WRONG decision because two days later we
went to the Kansas State Fair, and it was too much for the kids.)

Later that evening I picked Jeff up from the airport, so we could head to Kansas in the morning.
