Day 3 Continued

Once we returned from the hike to our cabin, and we finished lunch,

the kids went outside to collect bugs.

This was their favorite pass time when we were relaxing around the cabin.

At one point they had around 30 honey bees and 3 bumble bees in that container.

We then had to wait for a storm to roll by.

Once the storm rolled by, we headed back down to the creek.

We then reenacted a "close call" that we had going back to the cabin from the hike.

On our way back, there were a couple of bicyclist who were parked

and getting their bikes off of the top of their vehicle.

We were all so busy watching them the next thing we know,

Jeff was slamming on the breaks.

He looked away in time to save us from slamming into the tree.

On those rodes you can't drive fast,

so no one would have been hurt,

but it saved us from scratching up the fender and

saved Jeff from some total embarrassment.

At the creek...

Kaylie collected flowers...

while the boys caught minnows.

They then had to release the minnows into the pond next to the cabin.

After cleaning up, we decide to let Kaylie open up some birthday gifts early,

that way she could enjoy them the rest of the week at the cabin.

We ended up starting a new tradition...

Each person shares one thing they really appreciate or love about the birthday kid,

and they then present the gift to her/him.

We finished our day with our bedtime drive and enjoying the view of the full moon.
