Aug. 14 - Goodbye Cabin, Hello Lake

I am finally getting to the end of our vacation that was over a month ago!

On the final day of our vacation, we had to clean. Part of the deal of getting this cabin for free was to clean up after ourselves, and do the laundry and have everything set up for the next person. We were suppose to be out by 3:00pm, so the whole morning was spent cleaning and the kids finally got to watch some videos so they would not be messing things up after we cleaned.

Around 1:00, we were putting the finishing touches on the cabin when the next person shows up. A little awkward, but Jeff had a good conversation with the guy and he was very understanding of the whole mix up.

We hit the road around 1:30 and OH! the drama we had with Kaylie. A couple of days earlier, Kaylie had found a snail at the lake and she caught it and put it in a water bottle that she kept on the patio. When we were leaving, I reminded her that she had to throw the snail back into the lake because we weren't taking it home.

Imagine the wailing coming from this...

...for this

Coming to grips with goodbye.

Goodbye.

On our way to Bailey, we passed this lake and we filed it in the back of our mind to check out some time. On the way home, we decided now was the time to check it out. For a small cost of $5, we could go in and use all the facilities at this lake/campground. We just wanted to let the kids swim. Before we went in, we had to go and find the nearest store to buy some towels for the kids. It was then on to the lake for us.
