Yah...hasn't quite happened like I hoped.
I have said "no" to a few things, but the time still gets filled up.
The good news...I have all of our Christmas shopping done! ANNND I almost have it all wrapped! Shopping I enjoy (for the most part), wrapping I do not!
Here has been my week:
Do remember that every morning is filled with school.
Monday- In the evening I had KidZone meeting. Two out of five were sick, so the other three of us decided to brave the frigid weather and spotty, slick roads and head to Texas Roadhouse. We enjoyed some peanuts and appetizers while we "met".
Tuesday- In the afternoon I heard this...
Kaylie to one of her brothers (I believe it was Landon) in play, "Don't sassa me boy!"
That evening Jeff was gone at an elders meeting and I was working on Xmas gifts.
Wednesday- Our life group had our FFF night (Food, Fun, and Fellowship). One of the other families, opened their home for it. It was sooo nice not to have the pressure of getting the house clean and having everything ready for people to show up. We were able to fix our food and go. There was some yummy food and some great time talking with friends.
Thursday- I had woken up at 4:30 in the morning and not gone back to sleep. I don't know for sure why I woke up but once I was awake I started worrying about things. After about an hour of laying there I finally got up and started doing some searching on the Internet. Around 7:50 I was tired and ready for some sleep. I went back to bed for a "nap" and the kids got to enjoy some "School House Rocks" until I got up to do some work with them.
That evening the boys' had gymnastics and I was going to go get my "new glasses", but I was just not up for it. So instead, us girls, stayed home, still in our jammies, and we made spaghetti.
Friday- This day seemed to be the longest day EVER! The day before, I had mentioned to Jeff about going to the museum with the kids, he mentioned maybe taking them sledding since the temps were going to be up a little and the snow hadn't melted off. When we said something to the kids they all wanted to go swimming.
Neither Jeff or I wanted to go, but the kids haven't been in a while and they had gotten some clearance swim gear in September that they hadn't even had a chance to try out. So being the sacrificial parents we went seem from 10:00 to Noon. We then hit lunch and headed west to the mall to pick up my sunglasses, new lenses for my regular glasses, and to get Jeff's new glasses adjusted.
HEADACHE!!!! Mine were still wrong. I saw the eye dr. for the THIRD time, (which this guys was different then the other two times) and he got a different prescription. So for the third time a new set of lenses. Still not right. :s I'm suppose to return tomorrow...we'll see.
6:15 we get back home, pick up a few things and head out to the first night of Winterfest. Can I say FREEZING!!! It was soooo cold, we couldn't even enjoy it. We basically moved from one fire to the next, and we practically ran from one little building to the next. We were there maybe 45 minutes.
Saturday- I was up bright and early for me at 7:30. I had to get to Sams during the Gold Key hours because I do all I can to avoid the shopping crowds on Saturday. I picked up some cookie dough because I had to have 3 dozen baked for tomorrow. I also stopped by Kmart to pick up my very last Xmas present.
Got home. Baked cookies. Back out the door at 10:30 to go see Disney's Princess and the Frog with the family. We had VIP tickets to our Cinebarre, so we went and ate brunch, which was pizza, while we watched the movie. (I wasn't real impressed with the movie. I'm a little worried about the dreams it may give my kids.)
Came home and relaxed until 3:15ish, when we all started getting hungry so I made some homemade Alfredo sauce with fettuccine. YUM! By 4:30 we were all full, and I went upstairs to wrap more gifts while everyone else found something to do to entertain themselves.
This really isn't all that interesting but that is my week in a nutshell. I will post pictures of our Friday later.
My GOAL: To get caught up on 2009 before 2010! (When I print my book, it all has to be there!)
