On the way to Salina...the guys & the girls!
This is the first year, being at my parents' that we decided to go shop on "Black Friday". One of the reasons we've never gone shopping before is they live in a small town and the nearest city with an actual selection of stores beyond Walmart, is an hour drive. This year us "kids" decided we wanted to brave the early hours and the crowds!
Departure time: 3:45 am
We woke up to snow on the ground and it falling pretty heavily. So when we were driving it almost made you dizzy to look at the snow in the headlights.
5:00am...Our first stop was Walmart. We could hardly get into the parking lot so the guys dropped us girls off at the door. We headed to the electronic section, to look at some $2.00 movies, but we came to a stand still half way back. There were carts blocking aisles and there was no way for us to even squeeze through the people and the carts. We decided it wasn't worth it and we turned around and headed right back out.
Next stop....5:15...my sister Tammy and I were dropped off at Target to wait in line, while Jeff, Matt and Theresa run to Sams to get some cheesecake for Brookes birthday celebration.
5:45...the others join Tammy and I in line for Target, we look at the map of the store and we form a plan of attack.
6:30...decided to try Walmart again. Found out the $2.00 movies were in the dairy section! Plus got some other Xmas shopping done while in there.
7:30...hit K-mart...got nothing.
8:00...got some breakfast at McDonalds.
After breakfast we then went to the mall and hit various stores and did some more shopping! Theresa and I then went to Sams to pick up the cheesecake, while the guys ran back over to Target to return what they bought earlier, and Tammy rested in the vehicle with her pillow and blanket!
We arrived back home by 12:00pm!
On the way home...those who are awake...
...and those who fell asleep (although I do have to admit I ended up falling asleep closer to home.)

Hey I must have been really out of it because I didn't even know you took that picture!
I will have to admit I thought it was going to be too much but I really had fun!
I am going to try to re-create my own version of "Black Friday" by just waiting until the last possible second to finish my shopping and then freaking out and running into everyone with my cart. Ha! Not really-but if I don't get going it could end up like that. Fair warning to area shoppers.
