A September Birthday

Going back to our Kansas trip...

On September 13th, we celebrated Landon's 7th birthday. His actual birthday is the the 19th, but the 13th was what worked best for the family.

It seems that most of Landon's birthday's are celebrated in Kansas because of the Kansas State Fair. The great thing is that there is always family to celebrate with. (Which the rest of my kids always want them to come to their birthday but it seldom happens.) The bad thing, he doesn't get a cake made by mom.

Landon chose a yummy meal, upside-down pizza and salad.

He also wanted cookie dough ice-cream, along with chocolate cake. When looking for decorations, he chose a sports theme, which we bought in Colorado. The morning of the 13th, my sister Theresa and I, head to Gt. Bend, 30 miles away, to go find a cake and some gifts. (There's nothing like waiting 'til the last minute!) I found the perfect cake that matched the decorations we had already bought...the only problem was it was white cake. I fixed the problem by buying chocolate cupcakes.

My whole family was there to celebrate and then Jeff's mom and older sister and bro-n-law, Jeanette and Justin, came down from Topeka.

We ate lunch around 1:00 and then enjoyed our cake and ice cream.

Then Landon got to open his gifts. He was so much fun to watch and see the excitement and all the expressions on his face.

Landon,

I didn't really get a birthday note to you at the time of your birthday, but I want to now.

I just wanted to let you know that you have been such a blessing to our lives these past 7 years. Here are SEVEN things I love about you!

  1. I love your hugs that you so freely give.
  2. I love when you come to cuddle with me.
  3. I love hearing you say, "I love you mom.", in that oh so sweet voice.
  4. I love all those funny things you say...you sure know how to make us laugh!
  5. I love that you are willing to try different things.
  6. I love to watch you play and enjoy your brothers and sister.
  7. I love that you are my son.

May you come to know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. May you come to love Him at a young age that you may be used and blessed by Him throughout your life. May His light and favor shine upon you.

I love you lots!!!

XOXO

Mom
