It's been really busy around here the past week. So much has happened that I could blog about, but there is almost too much so what do I blog about?
I'll start with the easiest, simplest thing.... My parents were here this past week. The first few days they were watching my kids so Jeff and I could go to a homeschool conference. My dad, during that time and throughout the whole week, was doing some projects for me! I got a couple of new book shelves and I or maybe I should say Kaylie got a window seat/toy box. We still have the finishing work and painting to do but they are all put together.
I got to spend some precious time with my mom, but it doesn't seem like long enough. We talked, we organized, we watched movies and we took the kids to the zoo and to some water fountains to play in. We also got to celebrate Father's Day together, which was great because I miss a lot of the "celebrations" with my family because of how far away we live. Overall, it was a great week!
I plan on sharing some insights I got from the homeschool conference, but that is too deep for my tired brain right now.
Here is a funny to end with...
Before my parents showed up, my mom asked for me to write down "rules" for my kids so they know what we allow them to do and what is expected of them. I got most of the list done, but I wanted to make sure that we got everything, so I asked my family, kids and Jeff included, if they could think of any other rules. From the other room Jeff said, "No wrestling in the living room." My oldest son, Preston, very seriously said, "They won't wrestle, they're adults." :o) I am proud to say that Grandma and Grandpa DIDN'T wrestle in the living room!
Until further rest...
