Once again it has been a few days since I've blogged and so much has gone on in those few days, so that means I must pick and choose what I'm going to write about.
This past week I got to go on a girl's get-away for 3 days and 2 nights up at Estes Park. My friend, Jeannie, and I have been planning this since the end of May. We wanted to get away from the realities and drama of every day life. We had a good time! We did shopping, we had fudge and ice cream, we watched movies, we sat by the lake and read, we hit some thrift stores, and we just pampered ourselves!
I don't think either of us got the rest we longed for (the bed was hard and no AC) but we had a beautiful scene off the deck to the cabin. And we were just surrounded in God's beautiful creation.
This was the longest Jeff had all the kids by himself. I don't think there were any catastrophes while I was gone, but I do have to say that my kids were wearing the same clothes, when I got home, that I saw them in when I left! His theory was, they didn't go anywhere so no one saw them. I guess it's the "if a tree falls in a forest does it make a sound" type of thing. :o)~
On our way home from Estes Park we hit garage sales all the way home, going through Boulder and the back way through the different towns. Garage sales are NOT good for me! It is very hard for me to pass up great deals. I informed Jeannie that she was not good for me and my pocket book!
It was back into reality very fast once I got home. I noticed on my auto insurance they are saying I got a speeding ticket. The ONLY speeding ticket I've gotten was when Jeff and I were newly married, so that was over 13 years ago. So I ended up spending 45 minutes on the phone with the DMV, mainly on hold, and things still aren't worked out. They "couldn't find it on the microfilm" and she "needed more time to look". That means I get to spend even more time on the phone with them tomorrow. :s It is in these situations that it is really hard to let "the light of Jesus" shine through me! I guess I could say it is when the "table turning" Jesus comes out of me! We'll see how tomorrow goes!

Pictures: 1) The cabin we stayed in. 2) The scene off our deck. 3) Jeannie shopping on the main strip. 4) Reading at Estes Lake, what a view! 5) Aaaaaahhh!!! Ghosts! No...it's just us pampering ourselves with a mask.

I was just talking to one of my best friends who lives in San Diego. She and I were talking about how we all NEED a good girl's getaway from time to time. No kids, no husbands, no hustle and bustle, just time to sit back, relax, laugh and fellowship.
I'm so glad that you got to go on your getaway. Isn't it awesome to have great friends to get away with!??
Hope you have a fabulous week!
I'm so glad you two got to have some time away! I love that pic of you in the masks. :) I hope God really brings blessing out of your fellowship together.
