Our Guests, Our Friends

The first weekend of May, we had some guests!
I believe this was our first set of overnight company other then family since we've lived in Colorado. Richard and Dana are from the town/church we were at before we came here. Dana actually worked at the church and so she was part of the staff meetings and etcetera with Jeff. When we very first moved in at Hugoton, I remember Dana being there pitching in and helping put food away in the kitchen pantries and she was very friendly and welcoming.

Throughout the whole time both Richard and Dana were always there to lend a hand if we needed it, and on many occasions they watched our kids. We started a life group together that met in their home and that bonded our friendship even more.

Once we moved from Hugoton there were phone calls and then when we moved to a separate time zone the phone calls became harder to do and then there was communication via Facebook. We then got a phone call saying they were going to come to Denver to celebrate their anniversary and Dana's birthday and they would like to see us. Well of course!!!

When they walked in the door and it was like there had only been days since we last chatted rather then years. We picked up right where we left off.

Now Richard and Dana had not gotten to see the mountains because it was cool, cloudy and rainy. The whole time they were in the area we were feeling bad for them because who wants to drive all that way and not get to see the beautiful scenery. So when they got to our house Jeff wanted to offer to take them to the foothills. We all piled into our van and headed to Red Rocks Park and they at least got to see a little bit of scenery, in the rain.

That evening we enjoyed dinner and some strawberry shortcake and we had to sing "Happy Birthday" to Dana since we she was celebrating her fourth decade. ;o) Us adults enjoyed a movie, and then on Sunday they got to see and hear Jeff once again "in action" and we had lunch and they were then off on their way back home. It was a very short visit and I think we need to make sure we see each other before another three years pass by.
