A change of plans...
this sooo may not make sense....very limited amount of sleep.
Last night around 10:30 pm, my dad shared that he was having some pains for the past 2 1/2 hours, he was sweating, and had the shakes. Mom and I decided to take him to the ER at the VA hospital. He was transferred to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, and that was the best hospital ever! Great nurses and doctors. Then to our great disappointment, he was then transferred back to the VA after sitting at Swedish all day. I think we all went on about 30 minutes of sleep in the night.
Here's the basic info. He ended up having a "microscopic" heart attack, as the cardiologist said. He said 10 years ago the enzymes in the blood that points to muscle damage in the heart wouldn't have even been detected because of the technology. He went in to have a heart "cath" and the cardiologist really thought he would do an angioplasty and put in some stints. Nope, too many blocked arteries. He is going to have to have a triple or quadruple by-pass.
Still not sure when, because now we have to meet with a whole new heart surgeon. If this was going to happen, I'm glad it happened here where there is excellent care. Praise God, things were "caught" before a major, if not deadly, heart attack happened. Both my sisters are on their way. They should be here tomorrow. It sounds like dad may be in the hospital for a week and then he won't be able to travel for a week or so.
My parents were here to watch our kids for a few days while Jeff and I went to the homeschool conference. Not sure what's going to go on with the whole conference. I know I have to go some to get curriculum for next year.
Just pray for my dad and that things go well. Pray for safe travel for all the family headed to Colorado. Pray for peace within the whole family.

Thank God for the Holy Spirit giving you, your mom and dad discernment to go to the E.R.! I will be praying for y'all. Some encouragement with the heart surgery. Pastor dennis (who had the massive heart attack and triple-bypass a little over a week ago) is doing fantastic. My grandpa had a quad bypass over 4 years ago now and proclaims every day how much better he feels. I will be praying for God's same physical healing for your dad. Love you guys.
Praise the Lord!!! What an awesome testimony of Him taking care of your dad and, as Jae said, giving you all discernment! And how amazing that the Lord kept him until he was WITH YOU! Wow.
We will definitely be praying out here too!! Wish we could keep your kids for you so you can go to the conference!! I know God will totally work it out though!

Love you girl and praying for you too. You girls and Momma need to be sure and take care of yourselves during this time as well. It's easy to spend all your time at the hospital and "forget" to rest and eat properly. You will need both of those things in order to stay healty for Daddy. So don't forget yourselves! :)
Praying for Daddy and for all the different care givers ya'll will come into contact with over the next few days/weeks. Praying for comfort, strength and safe travel for you and your family.
Keep us posted when you can.
We'll definately be in prayer for your dad's health and everyone else's peace of mind. Can we do anything to bless you during this time?
Julie,
Jamie called me the other night to tell me about your dad. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and all of you. My dad was in about the same situation your dad is in three years ago. He was at a ball game with my brother and began to have a hard time breathing. They took him in for a heart cath and found very similar results. There was one miracle after another as my dad went through his testing, surgery and recovery. It was a miracle he was still alive and how God took most of his pain away. I know your dad is in the same Hands my dad was in. It is difficult to see someone you love go through all of this but God is in control and will take of all of you. We will all continue to pray for your dad, the doctors and all of you.

Oh, Julie-my goodness. Yes, thank-You, Lord for quick response and great care.
I so applaud your dad for even speaking up about what he was feeling. Many people don't.
May your time together, as you all love on your dad, be blessed and sweet. And may he heal quickly, in Jesus' name!
