I LOVE Facebook! I am addicted!
For those of you who don't know what Facebook is, it's basically an online community where you can "network" or as I do, catch up with old friends. If you've heard of MySpace it is similar but yet different.
I'm not sure how long I've been a part of Facebook, I would guess around 7 months. I got an email from a college friend saying she joined and I was invited to join also. I did, and lo and behold I found quite a few more college friends and acquaintances. I then was able to get my sis Tammy to join also and now she is as much "addicted" as I am.
As time goes, I have found or have been found by, more and more people from the past. I get so excited to find new people, I always have to call my family, especially my sister Theresa who I keep trying to get to join but she keeps refusing, to let her know who I'm "friends" with.
Here are my "friends" by groups:
Manhattan Christian College - I would say this, by far, is where I know most of my "friends" from. Some of them I had kept in contact with but now I am connected with them on an almost daily basis. Some it's been great to re-connect with and see how they are doing. I even have several professors as "friends"! Then there are the few that I didn't really know in college, but I knew who they were, but now a friendship has blossomed. I am truly blessed by these friendships!
Family - I have some, but not a whole lot of family on here. Most of my California cousins have joined and that has been wonderful! I have found out about pregnancies via Facebook and I have been able to watch my cousin's tummy grow with child, something I never would have been able to see without FB. With all my family, that I wouldn't typically talk to on a regular basis, I now get a glimpse into what is going on in their life.
Church - I have "friends" from the church I grew up in, people I was in youth group with. I have "friends" from each church that we've ministered at, which is a total of three if you count New Hope. My greatest or maybe I should say most exciting "find", because all by "friends" are great, is a former youth minister's wife and her girls that are right around my age. These are ones who had a deep impact in my life, but they left around my freshman year of high school. It has been great being able to catch up with them and once again 're-connect'.
Childhood - I have found a few "friends" that I basically grew up with. Some that I went to kindergarten with all the way through high school and my mom babysat them when they were young.
People I've met along the way - Then the rest are made up of those who I've met along the way, here and there. Some are from introductions via my family. There are some from Bible studies, ministry connections, homeschool groups and even old co-workers.
I have now hit 200 "friends" and I am amazed at all the people I have re-connected with. To many, 200 isn't much, but to me, when I was excited just to hit 100, I have exceeded way beyond my expectations and had 100% growth!
If you decide to join Facebook, look me up!

I too love FB and am addicted as well. (Although I hate to admit it!) I've enjoyed reconnecting with friends from college and high school-it's so fun to see where everyone's life has taken them.
Love you girl!
You, my dear, are a sweetheart!! I love FB and I'm 56!! So no one is too old!! I've found you and so many others from churches we've served in. I've also found many friends from college and many from high school. It has been not only FUN but such a blessing to hear from others, and to share blessings and heartaches. God Bless Face Book!!:)
I have joined and unjoined facebook four times (currently NOT joined)! How does everyone keep up? Yikes! But lately, having gotten a slew of invites again, I have been thinking maybe....BUT that is what everyone tells me: IT IS ADDICTIVE. I fear that because I tend towards over-the-top. :}
And 200 friends? Girl you are POPULAR!!
I am married to one of the most popular & wonderful women on earth! I love you babe! God has blessed me! -Your hubby forever! - Jeff
