This Past Week

Wow! It has been a crazy week. After our non-stop weekend a week ago, on Monday I was summoned for jury duty. On that Monday was when we had snow and wind, so on the way to Brighton, where the county courthouse is, there were times where the visibility wasn't to far ahead of the vehicle, and on the way home was worse. I sat there, with my book, for 1 1/2 - 2 hours, then the clerk came in and said some of us were called for the county and they didn't need us, so I was excused to go.

That Monday threw off the rest of the week. It was hard to get back into a routine, the kids were in bad moods, and I was pretty irritable myself. On Friday, Jeff was summoned for jury duty. That is also my women's Bible study, so I enlisted as many people as possible to pray that he wouldn't have to go in. On Thursday evening we called, and he didn't have to go in! I was then able to go to Bible study, and after that is was grocery shopping.

This weekend seemed to be a repeat of last weekend. It was non-stop. I told someone that I don't even really look forward to weekends anymore because there is no rest in them. I told Jeff that we were staying home today...no Superbowl partying for us!

That is a very brief synopsis of where I have been this past week. So I now have jury duty, care group meeting, another meeting with the elders and wives, grocery shopping, sitting with a friend while her daughter was in the hospital because she was hemorrhaging, a KidZone PJ party/ movie night, and Sunday morning done and out of the way. Sure hope this next week is just a little easier/slower!

Jury Duty...

Julie,

Turns out having four kids seven and under with no backup babysitter exempts one from jury duty in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana! I was called to be a juror, and when I called to explain I home schooled my children and had no backup sitter (we had just moved here), the woman promptly excused me and told me to send a letter stating my reasons being my job as a mother. I would have been happy to be a juror, don't get me wrong, but I was impressed motherhood was reason enough for the court to excuse a potential juror!

Jeanie-
Wow! It is a small world!

Jae is a dear friend that God put in our life while we were in Hugoton KS at our last ministry. Her husband works for ADM and they have moved around a lot!
