Snowy Tuesday

TUESDAY, March 10, 2009

On Tuesday, I believe, we woke up to several inches of snow.

A few weeks ago, a couple of the boys bought some new sleds on clearance and they had been anxious to use them. We kept hearing how they'll never get to use them and Jeff kept reassuring them that we'll get a snow because March is the heaviest snowfall month in our area. So when we woke up to a white world, I thought I better get some school done fast so they can go out and use their sleds, because who knows how long it will be around. The highs were suppose to be in the 40's that day.

After getting math and language arts done, I had the kids bundle up so they could enjoy the snow before lunch. While they were out there it was melting pretty fast, and by mid-afternoon it was all gone. I was very thankful for being lenient on school and grabbing the opportunity while it was there.

Here are some pictures and a video...sorry about the shaking in the video because I was laughing.
The boys.

Preston, Landon and Kaylie on Landon's new sled.

Tanner

Landon and Kaylie trying to go together. They didn't get very far, as you can see the snow was melting and there was a lot of mud starting to show.

Preston and Kaylie headed back up the hill to try again. To watch them try to come down was sooo funny. I actually tried to get a video clip of it, but I was laughing so hard that I was moving the camera a lot!

This video is of a different time, a little later, Preston and Kaylie were trying to sled. Kaylie decided she was going to take full advantage of her brother.

I decided to go ahead and download the first video of them trying to sled. You might get a little queasy from the movement if you watch it. I was trying to laugh quietly but it sounds kind of wheezy. Towards the end of the clip you can see Kaylie trying to help and she's actually pushing backwards with her feet!
