July 11 - Visitors

Since dad was dismissed from the hospital on the 10th, my Uncle Jerry (dad's bro) and Aunt Linda decided to come up for a visit. They were able to sit down in dad's "room" and talk with him. I don't know much of what was talked about because who knows what I was doing around the house, but later that day, U. Jerry, A. Linda and Jeff decided to take a drive up Mt. Evans. The whole family was invited but I had no desire to go because the last time I did, I ended up with altitude sickness and I didn't think the kids needed to go for such a speedy trip.

When they reached the top, I believe they were going to look around but it was cold, rainy and windy, but Jeff was able to snap a few photos for them. (Which reminds me I need to email them those pics) They also enjoyed a beautiful rainbow that a camera can't do it justice. It sounds like they got some good talk time in and U. Jerry left Jeff with some illustrations to use in a message.

On the way back down (I think). There was a lightening bolt that struck a rock right in front of them. There was NO thunder...but I guess my uncle let a few choice words slip! A. Linda described it looking like sparks shooting, like lava coming out of a volcano. U. Jerry said, "Good thing there was a minister in the car." I guess after such a close call of being struck by lightening the thing to do is jump OUT of the shelter of the car and get a picture of where the lightening struck! because that is what Jeff did.

They came home to a rainbow in the cul-de-sac.
