My Baby's American Made!

This is a little out of order of how the summer went, but since two posts ago was about Kaylie turning five, I thought I would blog about her birthday celebration first so it would follow her other birthday post.

We had originally planned on celebrating Grandma's birthday (July 17) and Kaylie's birthday (July 29) together so mom and dad could be part of the celebration. When we saw they would be here a little longer, plans then changed again to the kids and I taking them back to Kansas, where Aunt Theresa, Aunt Tammy, and the cousins, Brooke and Megan, would be there and we would celebrate there together. Plans then changed again and it happened that Mom and Dad were still here on her actual birthday and Jeff was then able to celebrate with us also.

Kaylie has been saying for quite some time that she wanted a "red, white, and blue, American flag birthday". Since her birthday conveniently falls a few weeks behind the 4th of July, I was able to find decorations for 80%-90% off at Hobby Lobby! Love, love, LOVE those bargains!

For Kaylie's birthday meal she chose:
  • Rotisserie Chicken
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Boiled Potato's with Butter (she actually didn't choose this but we need something else with the meal.)
  • Rolls with Butter

And for dessert:

  • Chocolate Cupcakes
  • Ice cream with Blue and Red Sprinkles

July 29th, was a looonnnngggg day for Kaylie and her brothers. We had to wait until Daddy was off of work before the celebration could begin. Though she got to lick the batter off of the beater!

In a life of a child 8 hours could be FOREVER! When Jeff got home, the birthday meal was pretty close to being ready. We enjoyed the selection our birthday girl chose.

We then had to break out the cupcakes and sing "Happy Birthday"...with the boys adding the whole "you smell like a monkey" version in there.

We then enjoyed some very yummy and moist cupcakes and ice cream.

Then the best part...PRESENTS! (Which were great bargains too!)

Her brothers had to get in the action too!

We then ended the evening with a good laugh. Aunt Tammy always calls and asks the kids what they want for their birthday. This year one of the things Kaylie told Aunt Tammy that she wanted was a "big, white horse...not the black one." Aunt Tam looked and looked for this horse and couldn't find it so she called Kaylie to ask where it was. I didn't get the whole conversation but here is the tail end of the conversation. Kaylie was telling her EXACTLY how to find it, in our Walmart! Mom, Tammy and I burnt some calories laughing about that :oD
